Facilitator Bio:
Maya Paley (she/her) – Founder,
Maya Paley Consulting & Coaching
Maya has two decades of experience serving as a leader on gender and racial equity and economic justice. In her work as co-owner and managing consultant at Cities & People Advisors. She offers nonprofits, foundations, and government agencies a range of services, including research and evaluation, strategic planning, coaching, and organizational development. Maya served on the Steering Committee of the CA Work and Family Coalition and on the Executive Committee of the LA Coalition for Reproductive Justice for several years. She has also served as a member of many other coalitions, including the CA Coalition for Reproductive Freedom and the Raise the Wage Coalition in Los Angeles.
Maya’s recent clients include ACLU California Action, BreastfeedLA, City of West Hollywood, Liberty Hill Foundation, and the Women’s Funding Network. She has been honored with an Outstanding Woman Leader award by the City of Santa Monica and a Women in Leadership award by the City of West Hollywood. She was a featured “hero” in artist Taiji Terasaki’s Heroes at Borders exhibit at the Japanese American National Museum in 2020. Maya earned her Bachelor’s in Political Science from UC Berkeley and her Master’s in International Affairs from Columbia University. When not doing all this, Maya loves to write, read, think, rest, eat chocolate, drink chai lattes, and spend time with family and friends.
