A comprehensive suite of invaluable programs

Ideally, succession planning is a thoughtful and ongoing process that becomes part of an organization’s culture and regular practice. This process can involve defining, revising and/or clarifying an organization’s strategic vision and related strategic plan, identifying the leadership and managerial skills necessary to carry out that vision, and implementing specific steps to cultivate existing talent to grow and take on more, and/or recruiting individuals who have the needed skills and capabilities. CNM can help organizations develop and implement this planning process, and we offer strategic counsel to help boards and the executive team to navigate an unplanned change in leadership, including developing plans to ensure that programs and services continue without disruption, and to prepare for identifying and hiring new leadership.

Work With an Executive Coach

For decades, executive coaching has been offered as a company-sponsored perk for top high potential employees in the business sector, and was often too expensive for nonprofit leaders. CNM is changing that by offering affordable executive coaching for nonprofit leaders, and by training additional executive coaches to serve the sector. Across the country, nonprofit executive directors say that coaching is by far the most effective professional development strategy. Executive coaching is a customized and holistic professional development process that provides deep behavioral insights intended to accelerate a leader’s effectiveness. The essence of executive coaching is helping leaders get unstuck from their dilemmas and assisting them to transfer their learning into results for the organization. Coaching is a process that fosters self-awareness and that results in the motivation to change, as well as the guidance needed if change is to take place in ways that meet organizational needs.
