South Los Angeles Community Development
Financial Institutions Consortium
Creating a robust alliance to provide essential resources
The Situation
Through its thirteen local member organizations, the South LA Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI) Consortium provides essential business and financial resources to those living and working in South LA. Its members sought a knowledgeable partner to efficiently facilitate a process that defined common goals and opportunities to work better together.
The Engagement
Over several months, CNM worked with the thirteen local member organizations to create the South LA CDFI Consortium, a group focused on promoting economic opportunity for that geographic area. By working to build a network based on mutual trust and collaboration to meet community needs, CNM provided the guidance and structure for the group to construct an organizational structure and plan for moving forward, connecting residents and small business owners to resources.
