About this Seminar
Supervising people presents challenges as well as opportunities for growth. This seminar is designed both for new and experienced nonprofit supervisors and those who have had no formal training in their roles. Join us for this two-session class to sharpen your skills to better manage, communicate with, and motivate your staff as well as network and learn from other supervisors. Walk away with new approaches for working with your team to best accomplish your goals.

Virtual Seminar
Optimized for the virtual environment, this two-day (½ days) seminar will consist of presentations, group discussions, breakout group sessions, polls, and short breaks. This is an opportunity to do a deep dive on a new topic and leave with tools that you can put into practice immediately.
Alda Merino-Caan – Strategist, Center for Nonprofit Management
Alda has more than 10 years of experience in the nonprofit realm delivering trainings and professional development, advising the leadership of organizations ranging from startups to veteran nonprofits, and designing successful and sustainable programs. She brings a diverse perspective as a nonprofit consultant and attorney with a background in advocacy, community education and organizing, program development, as well as cultural experience that includes global nonprofit reach. At CNM, Alda engages in evaluation in which she works directly with funders, stakeholders, and nonprofits to coordinate and support the various phases of evaluation project management. Alda also provides consultation, capacity building, training and facilitation, and guidance for leaders of nonprofits. She facilitates professional development workshops and coaching both in small groups and one-on-one settings. She is a capacity builder in strategic planning, board development and governance, fund and resource development, communication, and supervision. Alda holds a Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School and BA in International & Intercultural Studies & Spanish from Pitzer College.
