Maura is widely recognized for her expertise in organizational development and strategy and in all aspects of organizational development with a focus on strategic planning, assessment, and evaluation. At CNM, she oversees the client services and provides consulting, training, and coaching services to a broad range of organizations in the nonprofit as well as in the public and private sectors ranging in all sizes and stages of development. Much of her consulting and capacity building work has been with community-based organizations and public health departments related to effective organizational operations, evaluation practices (including design and implementation of process and outcomes evaluation), and the use of logic models and other assessment tools to support planning, evaluation, and management.
Maura has conducted workshops on participatory and other evaluation methods for CNM, Long Beach Nonprofit Partnership, and several foundations throughout California. Maura’s professional experience over three decades includes designing and delivering leadership workshops, training the trainers in the leadership field, and conducting several leadership development research studies. She is a skilled facilitator and coach in organizational and financial management, nonprofit development, strategic planning, nonprofit technological infrastructure, talent lifecycle management, and communications and marketing.
Maura holds a Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior from the Claremont Graduate School, an MBA from the Peter Drucker Graduate Management Center, and a BS in Psychology from Georgetown University. She is a certified BoardSource Trainer, a certified Advanced Associate, and a Trainer for the Connective Leadership Institute and has completed certification as an executive coach under the International Coaching Federation. She also has certification in IRB (Institutional Review Board) procedures to ensure ethical, feasible, and confidential methods in any kind of data collection. She also serves as an adjunct professor at USC’s School of Social Work and Department of Psychology, teaching courses in Evaluation and Organizational Psychology.
