On March 17, 2022, more than 80 members of LA’s vibrant nonprofit sector joined CNM and LA County leaders for an important progress update on the work to improve LA County’s contracting processes.
It was a unique opportunity to engage in a discussion with LA County staff who are leading the work to update LA County’s new websites, navigate the distribution of new Federal dollars, and map progress in improving contracting practices through an equity lens. Michael Owh, Chief Deputy Director of LA County Internal Services Department, and D’Artagnan Scorza, Executive Director of Racial Equity for LA County, talked about these issues and shared the best ways to learn about upcoming county contracting opportunities.
In breakout groups, participants provided feedback and shared their experiences. They also received updates on their priorities and the needs they had elevated through the past few years of collaboration.
